Psychotherapy

psychotheragy

Lately, you haven’t been feeling like yourself. Your stress level is high and your thoughts are bringing you down. You know that something needs to change but you feel stuck. Maybe you’re struggling with a relationship, a job, or a challenging situation. Maybe a significant life event has occurred and its impact has left you reeling. You wonder if you have the capacity to get through this on your own.

Reaching out for help isn’t always easy, but it’s the first step towards healing, acceptance, meaning, and peace. Just by reading this website you have taken the first step.

I support people who are dealing with a number of issues including stress, anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, grief, and trauma. I utilize many different techniques depending upon the needs of each individual client. I am trained in EMDR, certified in Kripalu and Kundalini yoga, and use techniques and theories from meditation, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, client-centered therapy, Thomas Moore’s soul-based therapy, and IFS (Internal Family Systems). I am also trained to use the creative arts in healing (art, music, movement, journaling, psychodrama). I am passionate about depth psychology, existentialism, interfaith and spiritual studies, and the mystery of life.

For more information on specific types of therapy as well as basic practices you can use at home, see the videos below.

Internal Family Systems Therapy

IFS is an inspiring and positive way of doing therapy. I hope you enjoy my interview with the founder of IFS, Richard Schwartz.

EMDR Therapy

EMDR is another type of therapy I offer. Here is a video that will give you information about EMDR, as well as my own personal experience with EMDR. Everyone’s experience is different and unique. Mine may have moved quickly because I am a willing participant and have been working on self-improvement and evolution my entire adult life. However, I have seen many, many people benefit from this type of therapy in my practice.
